2026 Rules
Number of Competitors:
We have set at 80 the top limit of slots available for competitors, all classes considered.
The minimum number of competitors needed for the worlds to actually happen is 30.
If the minimum number of competitors is not reached, the competition will be called off and any money collected from registrations will be refunded.
Competition Dates:
Munday, March 30, 2026 - Main field open for practices / Competitors check-in
Tuesday, March 31, 2026 - Main field open for practices / Competitors check-in
Wednesday, April 1, 2026 - 1st competition day
Thursday, April 2, 2026 - 2nd competition day
Friday, April 3, 2026 - 3rd competition day
Saturday, April 4, 2026 - 4th and last competition day
Sunday, April 5, 2026 - Competitors' departure
The venue will be open for practices since the week before the contest.
The main runway that will be used for the contest will be available for practices starting Monday, 30, and Tuesday, 31.
Any practices before that day will be held at the model airplane runway, which is located close to the main runway.
Hourly Schedule:
Daily morning briefing: 7:30am
Daily expected wheels up time: 7:40 to 7:50am
Daily expected precision flights ending: 5:00pm
There will be a freestyle round at the end of every precision competition day.
Flight Stations:
The main runway is an active manned one, spanning 1.1km (1760 yards)
There will be 2 flight stations. One is going to be located at the north end of the main runway, and the second one is going to be located at the south end.
Each station will have 2 overlapping flight lines for a total of 4 airborne competing airplanes at all times.
Projected Number of Flights:
Precision:
Sportsman through Unlimited are expected to complete 1 known round (2 sequences), 1 unknown round (1 sequence) every competition day. Each competitor should have flown 3 precision sequences by the end of each day and 12 precision sequences by the end of the competition.
Unknown sequences will be handed to all pilots early in the morning and are to be flown during that same day (1 sequence).
Each competitor should have flown 4 unknown precision sequences by the end of the competition.
Freestyle:
Competitors who sign up are expected to fly a single freestyle sequence by the end of the precision flights every day.
Each competitor should have flown 4 freestyle sequences by the end of the competition.
Judges:
Important: This projection can vary depending on the number of international judges (judging personnel coming from a country outside Argentina)
- The judges for known rounds are going to be:
2 judges chosen from the competitor roster
1 international judge
Judges will rotate each round
- The judges for unknown rounds are going to be:
3 judges chosen from the competitor roster
1 international judge
- The judges for freestyle are going to be:
4 judges chosen from the competitor roster
