![]() Earlier on this year in May...we gave you a sneak peek of the individual class trophies. http://www.imacworlds.com/world-blog/sneak-peek-of-the-trophies I thought it was BIG.... Well let me tell you... The TEAM trophy is BIG and HEAVY!! If it has to go overseas, the Team better look into chartering a plane to take it out!! I was just reminded of this on the IMAC website. For our International competitors and visitors. Don't forget to bring the appropriate electrical adapters for your chargers, power supplies, etc. The United States uses 120V at 60hz with Type A or Type B plugs For any shipments you may have coming in for the World Championship, you can direct them to the AMA in Muncie for holding until you arrive. The address and contact person is listed below: Academy of Model Aeronautics Attn: Colleen Pierce (FAI Coordinator) 1561 E. Memorial Drive, Muncie IN 47302 USA Ph: 765-287-1256 EXT. 252 We have been working with the folks at the AMA and a local Muncie vendor. There will be golf cart rentals available, but they should be booked in advance.
Rates: $250 for during the event (Sept. 2 - 6) Additional days (ie: arriving early or staying after) would be $35 per day. If interested Please contact the AMA directly at 1-800-I-FLY-AMA Then ask for either Colleen Pierce or Kim Shaneyfelt As of now, we will have the Unlimited and Advanced classes flying on Site 3 (Show Center) of the IAC, with Sportsman and Intermediate flying at Site 4.
This is subject to change but that is the plan as of now The 2014 IMAC World Championship organizing team is working feverishly to try to make this the best event possible.
We are working with the folks at the AMA to come up with the best flight line and flight line area. The AMA will have several tents along the immediate flight line on both sites for airplanes in the event of storms and for over night storage if you so choose. There will be no personal tents allowed on the flight line. There will be an area just behind the flight line for personal EZ-Up canopies and the like. With the number of airframes that will be on site, we all need to work together with the use of space on the flight line. We kindly request that USA and Canadian competitors that may have trailers, tents, etc. with them at the World Championships, use those items for over night storage of airframes so our International competitors that do not have those options can use these tents for over night storage. We have also arranged with the AMA for over night storage at the Farm House just a short walk from site 3. In order to give all the pilots a bit more time to practice and organize. The deadline to turn in freestyle music has been extended to Aug 15, Please send music (MP3 format preferred) to [email protected]
